Strategic goals of ComTALK.
Confidence built through care
Programmes that encourage positive interaction among people affected by HIV/STIs — building self-confidence, maturity, and self-care across sexuality and daily life.
A sustainable NGO
To become a sustainable NGO that can reliably provide services to its beneficiaries — year after year.
Power, especially to women & girls
Programmes that foster the resilience and empowerment of individuals — especially women and girls — and the communities they hold up.
Five things we set out to do, every year.
Encourage holistic development of all stakeholders of the organization.
Assist stakeholders in managing the impact of stigma and discrimination.
Provide learning opportunities about HIV/AIDS, SRH, and gender-based violence.
Establish and maintain a Post-Test Club for persons affected by HIV/AIDS and STIs.
Promote financial independence through income-generating activities and sustainable livelihoods.
The most critical support in any crisis is to have someone listen while the person or client talks — hence the name. It also implies dialogue.
The "International" came because ComTALK was never confined to Trinidad and Tobago.— Beverly King, Founder
