In December of 1992, Ms. Beverly King began her journey in the field of care and support
for people living with HIV/AIDS. Ms. King has been a pillar of strength in the HIV
community by providing care and support for persons living with HIV/AIDS and their
families. Her knowledge and experience have been shaped by the high quality training
programs hosted by CHARITAS AIDS Ministry and then her role as a peer
counsellor/educator for RAPPORT Youth Information Centre.
Beverly is a trained professional with over 20 years’ experience Facilitating
inter-sectoral sessions (corporate businesses, government, civil society) on HIV
Prevention, Treatment and Care, Sexual and Reproductive Health, HIV advocacy. She is an
HIV and AIDS Peer Educator and Master Trainer, Counsellor, Programme Manager, Instructor
and Consultant with more than fifteen years’ experience working in the Caribbean and
with key populations such as Persons Living with HIV, Youth and Adolescents living with
HIV, LGBTIQ+, persons with disabilities. She has attended and presented at several
International and Regional HIV and AIDS Conferences and meetings and facilitated
workshops in Antigua, Barbados, Bahamas, Boston, Canada, Cape Town, Ecuador, Jamaica,
Mexico, South Africa, St. Lucia, Trinidad & Tobago and Turks and Caicos, Vienna, USA and
Zambia
She is the Founder and Head of ComTALK International (aka ComTALK) a registered NGO
involved in HIV and AIDS programming, counselling and psychosocial support for over 25
years based in Trinidad and Tobago and has received several awards and recognitions.
