Project : Client Support

Prior to COVID-19 Pandemic ComTALK was involved in providing psychosocial support to its clients and their families. In 2020, over 200 hampers were distributed to families dealing with the issues of HIV and AIDS and affected by the COVID 19 pandemic through job loss, homelessness, food insecurity and non-adherence to medical treatment due to absence of nutritional intake. ComTALK also supports the needs of children of clients by providing school supplies hampers. This also involves assisting our clients who are survivors of gender-based violence Client support is an ongoing undertaking as we continue to respond to the psychosocial needs of our clients and families.

Strengthening Psycho-Social and Community Resilience in Rural Areas in East Trinidad

To enhance the resilience of rural communities in the context of public health disasters and emergencies through the provision of capacity building workshops, social connectedness through social networks, improved access to online psychosocial services, risk and vulnerability assessments. The project also seeks to close knowledge gaps with respect to issues such as HIV and AIDS, COVID-19 and gender based violence by mobilizing community resources. The project seeks to increase effective communication related to disaster response. This project is being supported by the U.S. Embassy Port of Spain and has a duration of May 2021 to May 2022.
